The College regulates the possession and use of weapons on the College Premises and, for safety, prohibits the possession of weapons on College Premises, in areas where outdoor classroom activities are held, and in locations where College Sanctioned Events are held. This Policy includes any device that can expel a projectile or other dangerous weapons, including knives with blades more than three (3) inches long, explosives, bows and arrows, swords, tasers, stun guns, batons, or other items which in their intended use, are capable of inflicting severe bodily injury or death.
For safety reasons, firearms, ammunition, or other weapons are strictly forbidden in any College Premises unless approved explicitly as part of an educational program or campus security operations.
Because these weapons may pose a clear risk to persons and property on the College Premises, violation of the regulations may result in administrative action from the College and prosecution under the appropriate state or federal laws.
No person* shall be permitted to carry firearms or other weapons, concealed or not concealed, with or without a concealed weapon permit. At the same time, on College Premises, without advance notice, express written permission from the President/District Director or their designee. Weapons in a vehicle on college property must be encased and out of plain sight with the unoccupied vehicle fully secured (e.g., windows up, vehicle locked, etc.) in compliance with Wisconsin Law.
*Certified law enforcement officers and Authorized Armed Campus Security Officers are exempt from this prohibition.
