The Grants Office (GO) supports the training, planning, development, writing, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of external grants for the College. The GO utilizes a three-step approach to grants administration: Prospect, Develop, and Implement. Post-award requirements are shared with the Business Office for proper accounting and internal controls.
When considering outside funding, Employees must consult with the GO before the development of a grant proposal and submitting a funding proposal. The GO is the only authorized submitter of grant applications for the College. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis and must be in writing from GO. All grant submissions require approval of the GO and the President/District Director, as well as communication with internal stakeholders, prior to submission.
All grant awards must be on file with the GO and Business Office. Upon grant award, the GO will coordinate initial implementation meetings, including all necessary stakeholders. The GO will be apprised of any reporting requirements, maintain records of all reports, and be informed of the location of all statistical and client records.
Paths to approval for a grant for development and submission may vary depending on the scope, source, and urgency of the grant opportunity. Grants impact many areas, processes, and resources. The GO brings consistency to the grant process while balancing flexibility and accountability. The process flow begins with prospecting for possible grant opportunities, leading to the development of a grant proposal and if funded, the implementation of the project.
