The Grants Office (GO) works with college leadership to identify emerging needs of the College and match resources. Opportunities at the local, state, federal, and corporate levels exist. The GO proactively scans opportunities that match college initiatives/priorities and maintains a list of best matches called “Prospect Leads.” The GO will keep attuned to political and legislative trends that impact funding opportunities.
Grants can be identified through multiple channels and by anyone at the College. Common ways of locating grant funding include checking the daily federal register, joining listservs for special interests, and checking government agency websites. Grant prospecting can begin as soon as an institutional need is identified or upon the awareness of a funding opportunity.
